EL CLUB DE LA BALANZA is a discussion forum organized by the Mass and Density Directorate of CENAM, where participants can exchange ideas and experiences, as well as share information on current issues in mass measurements.
This forum arose in 2018, on the eve of the revision of the International System of Units, as a need to inform mass users about changes in the International System of Units, in particular the change in the definition of the unit of mass that represented the last of the units that remained defined with an artifact, the International Prototype of the Kilogram. In addition to the change in the definition of the unit of mass, other current technical issues of interest among mass users have been addressed, exposed by representatives of Manufacturers, the Mexican Association of Metrology (AMMAC), calibration laboratories, and even by representatives of CENAM and of National Metrology Institutes of other countries.
The forum is intended to bring together all players in mass measurement, e.g.
• CENAM metrologists
• Manufacturers of weighing instruments and weights
• Laboratories for the calibration of weights and weighing instruments.
• Inspection units for weighing instruments
• Users of weighing instruments
• General public interested in mass measurements
